A guide to applying and training into our leadership development program.

Leadership Process Steps

Interested in becoming a leader? Follow these steps below to begin your next stage of development!

  • Read/reference WTC Playbook Leadership Role Descriptions/Characteristics to see if you would be a good fit for the role. Link to Playbook

    • Find a leader who will sponsor you. Link to Form

    • Fill out the Leadership Application Form. Link to Form

    • A Director/Executive will reach out within 72 hours to setup an interview.

    • Interview with an Executive/Director of the area you wish to develop in.

    • Answer on next steps within 5-7 business days.

    • You will recieve an official Acceptance or Deny letter.

      • If accepted, proceed to step 5.

      • If denied, clear steps will be provided on why and how to move towards goals to be eligible for the leadership position.

    • Complete Orientation for the position

    • Pathway

    • Complete requirements.

    • Time allocated for hands on training.

    • Complete checklists

    • Feedback Sessions

    • Will be conducted by Executive/Director of the area of focus.

    • KPI Analyze

    • Official Decision

      • Upon completion you will recieve a pay raise, nametag, and benefits matching those outlined in the playbook for that position. Link to Playbook

Leadership Characteristics

Below are the characteristics expected of each role along the leadership development journey.

    • ROLE MODEL (set the standard and is coachable)

    • GROWTH MINDSET (learn it all)

    • SERVANT HEART (motivation to put others needs ahead of their own).

      • Demonstrates confidence in pathway knowledge. Ability to inspire team members to be the brand standard. Able to mentor and provide feedback using coaching model. Willingness to admit mistakes, no excuses. Able to overcome obstacles by providing solutions or asking for solutions. Learn together, everyone rises together. Selfless and acceptance of others needs (guest and team members). Commitment to team, brand standard, and community. Passion for role and ability to inspire.

    • EMPATHY (ability to understand and share the feelings of others)

    • ACCOUNTABILITY (responsible, can accept the good and the bad) ,

    • RESULT FOCUSED (creates oriented task to achieve GOALS).

      • Anticipates guest needs and resolves issues efficiently and in the best interest of the guest and business. Anticipates team member needs. Creates an enjoyable work environment. Always coaching team members to put their best attitude at work. Not afraid to admit mistakes. Own the good and the bad results. Hold themselves to a higher standard. When they say they're going to do something, they complete it with 100% effort. Creates daily Subjective and Objective goals. Owns the results. Communicates results focus goals to team.

    • OWNERSHIP (takes responsibility for themselves and others actions)

    • TASK ORIENTED (able to create and complete any task in a timely manner)

    • INFLUENTIAL (passionate to serve others, intentional to develop the team).

      • Prepared goals for a successful shift. Communicates clearly on any potential harms to the business or shift. Can benchmark themselves on how well they can own their position. Is able to handle any difficult situation that arises. Organized on how they hold themselves and their execution of a shift. Sets deadlines and owns the result. Has intentional coaching conversations. Enjoys what they do-contagious to the team. Values others inputs.

    • SETS THE EXAMPLE (sets example and keeps others accountable),

    • CONFIDENCE (respect without fear, keeps all things in proper perspective).

    • INTENTNESS (sets realistic goals and concentrates on the achievement).

      • Over communicated clearly on systems and creates buy in from the team members. Is able to prioritize all needs of the business. Has the ability to believe in the rights things to do for the business and the customer. Knows what to do and when to do it without guidance but will seek to find an answer if they do not know it. Always prepared to put in the work but able to know when to help vs coach. Thinks forward, others first, and knows how to execute at a high level.

    • VISIONARY (knows where they are now vs where you want to be), POISE(being at ease in any situation)

    • EXTREME OWNERSHIP (knows what to do and when to do it without guidance but will seek to find answers if they do not know it).

      • Able to visualize what success looks like in their role. Clearly communicate and engages team on vision. Thinks and works ON the business. Ruthlessly themselves that embodies the CFA brand. Enjoys identifying and maintaining the perception of the CFA culture. Always prepared to put in the work but able to know when to help vs. coach. Thinks forward, others first, and knows how to execute at a high level.
